The arrival of Autumn for me always means cool winds and crazy sun changing to torrential downpours! I’m actually sitting inside while a monsoon shower has begun and I can barely hear myself think (type)! Autumn suggests a move from shorts and flip-flops to cozy boots and jumpers (sweaters for the stateside readers). I’m really liking ankle/calf boots for this year especially with fur lining and some buckle-detailing, I’m undecided whether to go brown,taupe or black but feel its got to be leather not suede (see earlier note on ‘monsoon’). These chunky knits are so good for autumn/winter as you can wear them over a thin tank or layer them with several tops depending on how cold it is! They can be balanced out by pairing them with skinny jeans or trousers. I’m loving all the Aran sweaters (this first pic burnt orange from ASOS) and cardigans..sadly I can’t wear wool which is a pity considering I’m in Ireland where there is an endless supply it seems. Knitwear (especially really thin knits or really chunky knits) is always top of my shopping list for their versatility in layering and comfort in the cold A/W months!
