of a neutral tone, intermediate between black and white…dismal or dark, gloomy…neutral or dull.

All ways I would also describe the month of January.  Without the Christmas lights and decorations everything starts to look a little gloomy… however grey does not have to be dull! Grey is an all-flattering colour as it comes in so many shades and is less stark on the skintone than jet black! It’s an effortlessly chic colour appropriate for day and night and especially for the working girl. It can be worked as shown above in a number of different ways from office wear e.g. the Zara overcoat or long pleated skirt, for the pretty/boho in the ASOS grey sheer pleated dress or the rock chic in the horse print mini-dress paired with a leather jacket and heels. It’s such an accessible shade and can be accented with colour. Turquoise blues and coral pinks work particularly well for a pop of colour!
